#suggestion #request I'd really like to be able to block certain types of users from EVER popping up in any of my feed. AFAIK block feature accomplishes this but it also prevents the blocked user from ever seeing my posts or interacting with my posts which is not something I'd want to do. Is there any way to have less harsh blocking mechanism--that blocks their content from appearing in any of my feeds but still allows them to be a follower of my content (and also able to interact and comment in my feeds) if they so chose?
[Make Page My Activity]
it would be great to have a “My Activity” page where my full actions will be displayed, for example, where I wrote a comment, where and what I clicked like who subscribed to whom they subscribed data and other, something like Instagram
Cons: if the account compromises user can see the history of actions.
Pros: You can view the whole story where you wrote something and find it (for example, if you forgot where you had a dialog
Also, in the event of a hack / restore profile, you will know what the attacker did while you were not in the account.
I understand that some people do not want the history show of their actions, as an alternative for them to turn off this option in the settings.
[Forward Back My position]
since we can’t watch media without entering the post, which is a pity (I hope they will come up with something later)
it would be great if I went to the post and after watching the video click the back button, then I would have grown up not at the beginning of the tape but at the same place where I opened this video
--ok, so I have no idea what it costs to store endless posts compounded by hundreds of thousands of users -- but I would imagine this cost is not insignificant (maybe I'm wrong?). Anyway, I was just thinking of going through my own posts and deleting the stuff I didn't want in there long term: the bugreports, posts now irrelevant about suggestions, maybe outdated political stuff....and it occurred to me that I don't even want most of my posts to have 'permanent' status and storage.
What if we were to charge something -- such as 25-50 cents in tube / or some charge in XP to give a posting permanent status on bittubers? All other posts would be removed after (say for example) 3-6 months... This would force content creators to more seriously consider the posts which they consider important - to them or to their audiences...and help cut down on storage fees immensely I would imagine. For me, it would almost be a service-- because anything I do not deem as important -- i would actually WANT to be removed at some point in the future by the system defaults. Other things I should be willing to pay something for to keep up in posterity. Naturally this would also create a revenue stream for the platform which could go towards costs of maintaining and developing the platform and server costs.
The question would be how much to charge for this? I believe it should be nominal but definitely cost SOMETHING. When posting up you could decide to pay a small fee to keep it up indefinitely or ignore the small fee and know that you posting would disappear within 3-6 months. There's really no reason to keep everything up forever (most things in fact) or even beyond a half year max imo.
#bittubers #bittube #tube @smaram
It's a great point to raise. I upload images I take or make, without thinking, but I like Blockstack dapps because the idea of controlling my data , access, files, forever. I want to do the same here for a lot of images, and know that if anything went wrong at BitTube the content could be under my control, privately etc, migrated. But there are a lot of transient posts that I may not want stored permanently. An option would be fine, and keep users mindful of all this.
They will only be hosted on the cloud for a little time then seeded, but if you pay for membership you get lifetime hosting of your files
I would pay XP but not money. Not unless the value of Tube was lot and I was actually maing money. But I would not pay out of pocket to have a post forever that was not earning me money.
In my experience people don’t like when they are limited and constantly impose on them to pay or buy.
I think the purchase of a level up + the price of the tube will pay for storage. It is better to make sure that people here like and feel comfortable. Maybe not :) personally my opinion
yah i'm just throwing it out there... i'm also thinking of millions of users and what it will take to sustain this. i'm sure tubefather thought of this but anyway — personally, i have different types of content - that which i don't want to see up months from now and other stuff which i'd like saved. The stuff i want saved in my case is actually much smaller.
Everyone liked free shopping bags at the grocery store— but then they implemented 10cents per bag here in san francisco. Now people use reusable bags — which is probably a good thing in long run and less wasteful. Lots of content is wasteful use of space and not necessary to store for many years, and i'm not sure even content creators would disagree regarding much of even their own content. Political content is a good example of this. Who will read or care about posts about bill clintons presidency and his impeachment trial today? Anyone? But if you wrote a big indepth article about it yah, you may want it framed for posterity, like a book. Other than that it's all trash at some point.
[Silence for a time]
Something like the Instagram function, when a user spamming posts a lot, and you don’t want to see them in your home stream, but you also don’t want to unsubscribe.
Example you can give silence 1 hours - unlimited for for the selected user and if need switch off this.
but if you go to the user’s profile then all of his posts will be visible, hidden only in you home tape
I would also like to block some users - so i never have to see their spam content junk... but i don't want to block them from seeing me if they choose. 👍
💡 Or we could give the choice of color to the users, one of them being transparent of course #suggestion
#bugreport #suggestion Honestly I really liked the original format when conducting a post. The whole new page opening up is , ehhhhhh..... Also look at how small the box is. For long posts this is not a good experience and requires lots of scrolling and reading through a small slit. Also if you look at my recent post on TUBE to 100,000% ... why are the images such low resolution in the gallery view? In the past when I've done this same method the resolution of the immages was fine... and now it seemed to auto adjust the image to lower res / smaller .
Yep, reported the text box issue a loooong time ago. As is customary with lots of websites, there should be a little handle on the bottom right corner of the text box, that the users can drag down or up to resize the text box.
Ditto on the image quality thing; it's currently unusable for screenshots because any text is usually destroyed by jpg artifacts.
[Left bar add option roll up separate item menu]
we have menu
Topics -> (5 Topics) -> Show More
Subscriptions -> (5 subscribe) -> Show more
it would be great, if i can roll down this 5 (topics,group,subs) now i can't only show more, but not hide.
Example love minimalism, and there’s not much point in this when the group is a lot and subscribers,
If you guys ever decide to release a schedule post feature, I recommend making it a free feature. Most (excluding minds) either have it under a paywall, or don’t have it at all, so that’ll be cool. #suggestion #bittube
