“For almost 30 years in the Aegean Sea, we have had to deal with our neighbors by ourselves,” explained the base commander Col. Dimitris Giannopoulos, standing on the runway in his flight suit.

Indeed, tensions between Greece and Turkey are not new, but the discovery of rich deposits of liquid and gas petroleum in the Eastern Mediterranean is changing the balance of power in the region at a time when Turkey’s apparent drift away from NATO is causing alarm in Washington and Athens.

Florida Pastor and founder of the TruNews YouTube channel Rick Wiles called efforts to impeach President Donald Trump part of a “Jew coup.”

In a Nov. 21, 2019 video, Wiles said, “That’s the way the Jews work. They are deceivers. They plot. They lie. They do whatever they’ve have to do to accomplish their political agenda. This impeach Trump movement is part of a Jew coup, and the American people better wake up to it fast.”

During the summer holiday thousands of migrant families travel with their young daughters to their native countries to undergo female genital mutilation.

FGM is banned in most countries, but it's still legal in Somalia, which - together with the rest of Somalia - has the highest rate of female genital mutilation in the world. Over 90 percent of girls in Somalia are cut by traditional cutters, most of whom have no medical training.

So why does this dangerous, painful and sometimes deadly practice continue in so many countries? And what would it take to stop it?

As the Chinese authorities continue a brutal crackdown in Xinjiang, the northwest region of China that’s home to the Uighur, Islam has been one of the main targets. Major mosques in the major cities of Kashgar and Urumqi now stand empty. Prisoners in the camps are told to renounce God and embrace the Chinese Communist Party. Prayers, religious education, and the Ramadan fast are increasingly restricted or banned. Even in the rest of China, Arabic text is being stripped from public buildings, and Islamophobia is being tacitly encouraged by party authorities.

As Turkey continues its bloody incursion into northeastern Syria, some people, including former French President François Hollande have called on NATO to "suspend" Turkey's membership in the institution.

Shortly before the invasion began, US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) vowed to sanction Turkey and "call for their suspension from NATO if they attack Kurdish forces who assisted the US in the destruction of the ISIS Caliphate."

But Turkey says it will not bow to the West and warned its NATO allies in Europe and the United States to get out of its way as it attacks Kurdish forces, causing the displacement of at least 130,000 people.

Actor and director Robert de Niro gives his take on the US presidential election, and on Republican nominee Donald Trump in particular, as part of a campaign urging people to vote in the 8 November poll. De Niro is one of a number of celebrities who took part in the #VoteYourFuture initiative but his scathing contribution was considered to be too partisan to be included in the final campaign, and was instead released separately by the producers.
