Built in 1024-1050, it came to the House of Württemberg in 1376.
In the 17th century the castle disintegrated and was razed from 1640-1658.
On the foundation walls of the former keep, King Wilhelm I had the castle built.
This tower was built in 1822. Threatened by decay, the tower was
1932 by the Verkehrs-Verein für Reutlingen und Umgebung with the help of the
Voluntary Service.
